From Friday 15th December to the end of term, the libraries will be closed for our stocktake. It’s really important that our catalogue is up-to-date and we track down our missing books, especially because we’ll have a new catalogue system coming in January. All pupils, students and staff can help by returning any books that they no longer need by the end of Wednesday, December 13th (this gives us a day to get them back on the right shelves). We can accept books for return during the stocktake, but you will not be able to borrow or renew books, so stock up on your Christmas holiday reads now!
We are starting the week off with our BookSwap! If you have brought in a book you would like to swap bring it to the Library and we will give you a voucher. You will then be able to exchange the voucher for a book someone else has brought in.
Our Book in a Jar Competition has also begun. If you can figure out which books are in our jars then you have a chance of winning a prize!
The Half Price Book Fair arrives tomorrow! It's a perfect place to find something new to read or you may even find the perfect Christmas gift for someone.
BOOK AMNESTY WEEK! Do you have a Library book or two (or more!) that need to be returned? This is the week to do it! Just bring your overdue books to the Library, no questions asked.
We are very excited that Turtles All the Way Down by John Green has finally been released! You can buy it in shops and very soon (hopefully before the end of the week) you will be able to borrow it from the Library.
In anticipation of this book coming out today we have created a display of John Green's other novels to enjoy until the space left for Turtles All the Way Down is filled with the actual book.
Today is National Poetry Day and to celebrate we have created a Poem Hunt in the Library for pupils and in the Sixth Form Centre for sixth formers!
