Don't forget to borrow books before the end of term so you will have something to read over the Christmas holidays. We have had a lot of new books arrive in the Library this half term.
Last week we invited pupils to decorate their own Harry Potter Christmas tree ornaments. Baubles, chocolate frog boxes and Bertie Botts Every Flavour Bean boxes were all created as ornaments. If you weren't able to attend you can visit the Library and look at our Harry Potter Christmas tree that is currently on display. Discover encyclopedia articles, multimedia, primary sources, games, and other learning resources that will help make researching your coursework much easier. We recommend that you begin researching on the intermediate level and switch to either foundation or advanced depending on what information you need. Don't understand what a word means? You can double click it and it will bring up the definition.
It's easy to use, just login to RM Unify and click on the tile for Britannica School. It will automatically log you in if you are using it in school. If you wish to use it from home please see the Librarian for login details and for any help using the site. Today at lunchtime pupils decorated stones with positive messages that will be added to our quiet area. They did a fantastic job!
It is National Libraries Week and we are kicking off the week with a quiz to test your book knowledge.
Every day this week we will also have Drop Everything and Read for 10 mins at the start of Period 5. Make sure you bring either a book, magazine, or newspaper to read with you each day. Tomorrow's will be our Positivity Rocks event where you will have the opportunity to help us decorate stones with a positive message. These will be added to the Quiet Area. See the poster below to find out what else will be taking place in the Library! |
